Line crossing
A person or vehicle crosses a line you draw, in the direction you choose.
- When
- A followed object crosses the line one way, the other way, or either way.
- Limit
- An object that is only partly in view near the line can be counted as crossing, or missed. A crossing inside the rule's repeat limit is not recorded.
- Needs
- A line drawn on the camera's view.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Warning is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

Zone entry
A person or vehicle enters a perimeter, fence line or restricted area.
- When
- A followed object enters the drawn zone.
- Limit
- The detector looks for people and vehicles rather than motion, which reduces but does not remove false detections from animals, reflections and headlights. A badly placed zone edge can also catch passers-by.
- Needs
- A zone drawn on the camera's view.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Critical is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

Loitering
A person stays in an area longer than the time you set.
- When
- Time inside the zone passes the limit.
- Limit
- If a person is lost and found again, the timer can restart, so long stays may be reported late.
- Needs
- A zone drawn on the camera's view; A dwell limit.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Warning is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

After-hours presence
A person or vehicle is in an area during the hours it should be empty.
- When
- Zone entry inside a scheduled window.
- Limit
- The schedule follows the clock, so authorised late work raises it unless that camera is excepted.
- Needs
- A zone drawn on the camera's view; A schedule.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Critical is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

Item left behind
A bag, case or stopped vehicle stays still beyond the time you set.
- When
- A backpack, handbag, suitcase or vehicle stays still past the limit.
- Limit
- Only the detected item types are covered, anywhere in the camera's view. A bag beside its seated owner can be reported.
- Needs
- A dwell limit.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Warning, set by the starter rule. You can change it per rule.

Camera offline
A feed stops arriving. The platform keeps trying to reconnect and shows the camera as offline until the picture returns.
- When
- The feed is still missing after repeated reconnection attempts.
- Limit
- A camera that streams a frozen picture can look healthy. The alert repeats while the feed stays down.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Warning, set by the starter rule. You can change it per rule.

Plate on watchlist
A plate that is read matches an entry on your organisation's watchlist.
- When
- A plate read matches a watched plate exactly, with commonly confused characters treated as the same, or within one character.
- Limit
- A plate that cannot be read cannot be matched. A near match must be compared by a person before anyone acts.
- Needs
- Number-plate module switched on; A watchlist.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Critical, set by the starter rule. You can change it per rule.

Rider without helmet
A scene reading describes a two-wheeler rider or passenger with no helmet.
- When
- The reading of a two-wheeler sighting carries the no-helmet tag.
- Limit
- Caps, hoods and distant riders are read wrongly at times. Treat it as a candidate for review, not a finding.
- Needs
- AI scene reading switched on, which sends a still of the whole camera view, with the object type, the plate as read, the camera's identifier, colours, how long the object was followed and the time, to the AI service you configure; a failed request may go to a second configured service.
- Path
- Raised after an AI scene reading of the sighting, not in real time.
- Severity
- Warning, set by the starter rule. You can change it per rule.

- When
- The reading of a two-wheeler sighting carries the triple-riding tag.
- Limit
- Two riders close to a pedestrian, or two motorcycles side by side, can be read as three.
- Needs
- AI scene reading switched on, which sends a still of the whole camera view, with the object type, the plate as read, the camera's identifier, colours, how long the object was followed and the time, to the AI service you configure; a failed request may go to a second configured service.

Wrong-way movement
A vehicle, or a person on foot, crosses a line against the permitted direction. Each rule names the object type it applies to.
- When
- A line crossed in the direction the rule forbids.
- Limit
- A vehicle reversing briefly, or a person stepping back, crosses the line the wrong way.
- Needs
- A line drawn on the camera's view; The object type the rule applies to.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Critical is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

Vehicle counts by type
Cars, buses, trucks, motorcycles and bicycles counted for each camera, by quarter-hour, hour or day.
- When
- Each followed vehicle is counted once in every period in which it is seen.
- Limit
- A vehicle that leaves the view and returns is counted again, and one seen across two periods is counted in each. Vehicle types outside the detected set are counted as the nearest type or not at all. Counts cover the last 30 days.

Person on the ground
A scene reading describes a person lying or collapsed on the ground.
- When
- The reading of a sighting carries the person-on-ground tag.
- Limit
- It follows the reading, so it is not an immediate fall alarm. People sitting or resting can be read as on the ground.
- Needs
- AI scene reading switched on, which sends a still of the whole camera view, with the object type, the plate as read, the camera's identifier, colours, how long the object was followed and the time, to the AI service you configure; a failed request may go to a second configured service.

Crowd gathering
More people are in a camera's view at once than the number you set.
- When
- The count of people in the camera's view reaches the threshold.
- Limit
- A count of people the camera can see, not a calibrated density and not a count inside a drawn zone. People hidden behind others are not counted.
- Needs
- A threshold for the camera.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.

Weapon visible
A scene reading describes a visible weapon.
- When
- The reading of a sighting carries the weapon-visible tag.
- Limit
- It follows the reading, so it is not a real-time weapon detector. Tools, umbrellas and phones can be read wrongly; concealed items are not seen.
- Needs
- AI scene reading switched on, which sends a still of the whole camera view, with the object type, the plate as read, the camera's identifier, colours, how long the object was followed and the time, to the AI service you configure; a failed request may go to a second configured service.

- Critical, set by the starter rule. You can change it per rule.
Fire or smoke visible
A scene reading describes visible fire or smoke.
- When
- The reading of a sighting carries the fire-or-smoke tag.
- Limit
- A reading is made when a person or vehicle is sighted, so an empty scene is not checked. It does not replace a fire detection system.
- Severity
- Critical, set by the starter rule. You can change it per rule.

Queue too long
The number of people in the view of a camera that covers a queue area reaches the number you set.
- When
- The count of people in the camera's view reaches the threshold.
- Limit
- A count of everyone the camera can see: not a count inside a drawn queue zone, and not a wait time. Staff and passers-by in view are counted too.
- Needs
- A camera whose view is the queue area; A threshold.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Info is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

Occupancy threshold
The number of people or vehicles in a camera's view reaches the capacity you set.
- When
- The count of the chosen object type reaches the threshold.
- Limit
- It counts what one camera can see, so a space covered by several cameras needs a rule on each.
- Needs
- A threshold for the camera.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Info is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

Dwell limit reached
A person or vehicle stays in an area, such as a bay or a service point, beyond the time you set.
- When
- Time inside the zone passes the limit.
- Limit
- An event at the limit, not a report of how long people stay.
- Needs
- A zone drawn on the camera's view; A dwell limit.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Info is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

Object present
A chosen kind of object is in a camera's view, such as a truck on a camera that covers a bay or a bicycle on one that covers a pedestrian area.
- When
- An object of the chosen type is present in the camera's view.
- Limit
- Limited to the detected object types, and to the camera's whole view: it cannot be limited to a drawn zone.
- Needs
- The object type to look for.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Info is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

Restricted-area access
A person enters a room, floor or yard at a time when entry is restricted.
- When
- A person enters the zone outside the permitted hours.
- Limit
- The rule knows the time, not the person: it cannot tell an authorised entry from an unauthorised one.
- Needs
- A zone drawn on the camera's view; A schedule.
- Path
- Raised on the real-time path, from the analysed frames.
- Severity
- Critical is a suggestion: no starter rule covers this event. You set it per rule.

What an event carries
What is stored with an event.
An event is stored with the parts below that apply to it. Events have no retention period in the current release; the stills they point to are deleted with their sighting.
- Event type and time
- Camera, and the zone or line where one is used
- Object type and the sighting it belongs to, where one object raised it
- A still frame on scene-reading and plate events; zone, line, dwell and item-left events link to the sighting's still instead
- The rule that raised it, on rule events; severity is on the alert
Severity is a property of the rule, not of the event. Where a starter rule exists for an event, the card shows the severity that rule gives it; for the other events the severity shown is a suggestion. You can change it per rule.
From sighting to alert
Sightings are always collected. Rules raise events and alerts.
Sightings, plate reads and scene readings are collected whether or not a rule exists. Zone, line, dwell, item-left and count events are recorded only when a rule for them fires, and each firing is an alert.
Watch
Each camera is watched by the rules you set for it. Rules on the real-time path are decided from the analysed frames; rules that depend on an AI scene reading follow the reading.
Collect
Sightings, plate reads and scene readings are stored with the camera and the time, and a still where a frame was captured. An event from a zone, line, dwell, item-left or count rule is stored only when the rule fires.
Decide
A rule sets what raises an alert: which zone or line, which object type, what schedule, how many, how long, how severe, and how often it may repeat. An occurrence inside the repeat limit is not recorded.
Review
An alert appears in the dashboard and on the real-time event stream. It stays New until a named person marks it Acknowledged or False positive.
