For substations, depots, plants and data centres. Zone rules cover the fence line, line rules cover the gate, each camera reports whether it is online, and an investigator can search the sightings around an event.

One visit, four camerasInfrastructure
  1. Vehicle gate · Plate reads; crossings with direction
  2. Fence line · Zone entry, on a schedule
  3. Restricted zones · Entry outside permitted hours
  4. Equipment yards · Items left still
One visit, linked as candidates across cameras

This sector is in our industry directory rather than among the six primary markets. We have not developed a full workflow or pilot plan for it yet.

Where it is used

Who it is for

  • Site security manager
  • Operations and asset manager
  • Perimeter

An entry to a fence-line zone raises an alert that leads to the sighting and its still.

  • Gate

A line rule raises an event, with direction, when the gate line is crossed, and plates are read where legible.

  • Source visibility

Every camera shows as online, degraded or offline.

Events of interest

Events for the fence line, the gate and the yard.

Each says what it needs and where it stops. The rules you set on a camera raise these events, and the alerts that go with them.

  • Zone entry

A person or vehicle enters a perimeter, fence line or restricted area.

    When
A followed object enters the drawn zone.
    Limit
The detector looks for people and vehicles rather than motion, which reduces but does not remove false detections from animals, reflections and headlights. A badly placed zone edge can also catch passers-by.
  • Line crossing

A person or vehicle crosses a line you draw, in the direction you choose.

    When
A followed object crosses the line one way, the other way, or either way.
    Limit
An object that is only partly in view near the line can be counted as crossing, or missed. A crossing inside the rule's repeat limit is not recorded.
  • After-hours presence

A person or vehicle is in an area during the hours it should be empty.

    When
Zone entry inside a scheduled window.
    Limit
The schedule follows the clock, so authorised late work raises it unless that camera is excepted.
  • Item left behind

A bag, case or stopped vehicle stays still beyond the time you set.

    When
A backpack, handbag, suitcase or vehicle stays still past the limit.
    Limit
Only the detected item types are covered, anywhere in the camera's view. A bag beside its seated owner can be reported.
  • Camera offline

A feed stops arriving. The platform keeps trying to reconnect and shows the camera as offline until the picture returns.

    When
The feed is still missing after repeated reconnection attempts.
    Limit
A camera that streams a frozen picture can look healthy. The alert repeats while the feed stays down.
  • Plate on watchlist

A plate that is read matches an entry on your organisation's watchlist.

    When
A plate read matches a watched plate exactly, with commonly confused characters treated as the same, or within one character.
    Limit
A plate that cannot be read cannot be matched. A near match must be compared by a person before anyone acts.

Use cases

What a site security team uses it for.

What the current release does for this kind of site.

  • Fence-line entry

An alert, linked to the sighting's still, when a person enters a perimeter zone

  • Gate crossings

An event with direction when the gate line is crossed, and the plate where legible

  • After-hours presence

A person or vehicle entering the yard during closed hours

  • Item left in a yard

A bag or stopped vehicle left still beyond a set time

  • Camera health

Feeds shown as online, degraded or offline, with an alert when one is lost

What it needs

  • Zones drawn along each fence-line section, with their hours
  • A machine at each remote site, or a link that can carry its streams to one

Boundaries

  • A site whose network link is down is not analysed unless the platform runs at that site.
  • A camera that is covered or moved is caught only where AI scene reading describes the view as obscured.
  • An item that goes missing is not detected, and a camera's usual pattern of activity is not learned.
